Minister McHugh invites views and contributions on the development of guidelines for schools on the use of physical intervention for the prevention and management of crisis situations

The Department of Education and Skills (DES) has established a Working Group to develop guidelines to prevent and manage crisis student behaviour in schools.  This was as a result of the National Council for Special Education’s policy advice, Supporting Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in Schools.

The views of the public are now being invited to inform the work. For this purpose, an online questionnaire is available for completion from today. This questionnaire will remain open from Tuesday 2nd April to Monday 15th April at 4pm.

Details of the Press Release and the questionnaire are available on the Department of Education and Skills’ Website at:-
