NABMSE to hold consultation with members on the proposed Career Entry Professional Programme

On Thursday 23rd February, NABMSE will hold a Consultation meeting with members on the proposed new Career Entry Professional Programme (CEPP) as published recently by the Teaching Council. As the rollout of this programme is an important issue for all schools, NABMSE hopes to have a good turnout by Boards of Management and Principals at this meeting.

The arrangements for the meeting are as follows:

Time:                    1.45 p.m. to 3.45 p.m.

Venue:                 Education Centre, Kildare Town

Background to the meeting:

It is proposed that the CEPP will replace the current arrangements for the induction of newly qualified teachers and their probation for registration purposes.

The Teaching Council are engaging in a comprehensive consultation process in relation to CEPP. They will meet with a range of stakeholders including mentors, principals’ bodies, school management bodies and teacher unions, to present its proposals and hear feedback in relation to same. In addition to these meetings, the Teaching Council is also inviting written feedback and submissions on their website.
