The DES has published their very comprehensive Staffing Circular (07/2012) on their website.
This circular includes:
- Overview of Staffing arrangements for 2012/2013
- Redeployment arrangements at primary level
- Background detail on the staffing arrangement for 2012/2013
- Information on the Primary Staffing Appeals Board
The Circular also gives the key dates in relation to the teacher allocations and redeployment process. The 16th March is the first key date for notication of vacancies. 23rd March is the key date for appeals to the Staffing Appeals Board.
There are six appendices as follows:
- Primary Staffing schedule tables for 2012/2013
- Enrolment Thresholds for Administrative and Administrative Deputy Principal posts in National Schools, Gaelscoileanna and Gaeltacht National Schools
- List of all schools showing allocations for 2012/2013 year – GAM/EAl, Base schools for permanent resource posts and additional permanent EAL posts
- Form for newly cluster GAM/EAL posts
- Application form for access to Main Redeployment Panel for surplus permanent teachers
- Application form for appeals Staffing Appeals Board.
On the Frequently asked questions section of the Circular, Special Schools should notes question 21 which deals with the panel to be used to fill a vacancy.
