School Transport Scheme for Children with Special Educational Needs 2012/2013

The DES have recently notified NABMSE that they have published the scheme guidelines for school transport for children with Special Educational Needs arising from a diagnosed disability.

This has been updated under section 3 – Eligibility Criteria

It is also important to note that the Department of Education and Skills is also putting in place deadlines for school transport for children with Special Education Needs consistent with those applied in respect of primary and post primary schemes. This deadline is the last Friday in April -  27th April 2012.  

Therefore children seeking transport from the start of the new school year will need to make the application for transport no later than this date.
