Election of new Boards of Management of Primary Schools

 

The Department of Education and Skills has recently published Circular 064/2011 and the Constitution of Boards and Rules of Procedure 2011 on their website.

The provisions governing the composition, appointment and functioning of Boards of Management assuming office from 1st December 2011 are now set out in this document.

10 copies of the booklet will be distributed to all schools in the coming weeks. These should be given to all those appointed to the new Board of Management and 2 copies should be given to the Parent’s Association.

The maximum timeframe for elections is set out in the Appendix to Circular 064/2011. A copy of the Circular should be given to all Board of Management members, school personnel  and the Parent’s Association.
